It is such a sweet town with tons of interesting shops( independently owned- NO franchise businesses), and hiking nearby. We will be back again!

Black Mountain is next to Asheville, it is just as cool as Asheville, if not better.
"This was a great place to stay for the night so that we could wake up where we wanted to be for the day. The hotel was completely clean and comfortable, and we got a good night's rest. We felt safe and secue. I don't think I would stay here for a long vacation, as it really doesn't have any amenities. BUT, since we only planned to arrive late at night and leave early in the morning, it was great! If you're looking to arrive at Biltmore when then open, this is a great place to stay! Affordable price. Right in the middle of downtown Black Mountain - a charming town."
