Middletown and Newport are fun places to go off season. We've stayed at some great places that were inexpensive off season. You can usually get rooms in hotels, motels and inns/bed and breakfast for real discounted pricing.

Atlantic Beach Hotel Newport
10/10 Excellent
"Our family had an excellent stay here. The location cannot be beat - this hotel is just steps from the public beach access, multiple restaurants, the bus stop (free service to downtown Newport during the summer), and a short walk to the beautiful Cliff Walk. The hotel is well maintained and clean, with an indoor pool and sun deck with views of the sea. Highly recommend. "
"Staff was kind, prompt and very helpful! Room and hotel was very clean and quiet - loved the spa water in the lobby and the nice outdoor area in the back."
"Property was clean, great vibe, cute room, nice pool. I stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the hotel very much. Staff was extremely helpful, quick to resolve any issues. (The safe was not working. Housekeeping notified Maintenance and the issue was resolved within 20 minutes. Also needed a microwave, and staff brought one to my room within 10 minutes.)
The pool area was very clean, with plenty of lounge chairs, towels, attendants for the drink and snack bar. Great atmosphere. I went to the pool a few times and enjoyed it.
I had a burger with fries in the dining room. It was delicious. Also had a quick muffin and coffee. Both were great, but the coffee cake muffin was to die for. Would definitely go back."
"We really enjoyed staying in this hotel. The staff were super friendly and the room was always clean as they clean every day. Very good breakfast every morning.we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend."
"I took my daughter and her friend to Newport for a couple days to get away. I like the fact that this hotel had the beach right across the street and was close to the shopping in Newport. The hot tub wasn’t working on the rooftop deck, but that was fine. The elevator also was being repaired on day two of our stay and was out of commission until we left. We did get a text message asking if we would need help with our bags when we left which we didn’t need, but it was nice to know that it was an option if we did need it. I would definitely stay here again."
""A very clean and comfortable place to stay, with friendly staff and a delicious, generous breakfast. If I come back to Newport, I already know where I’ll be staying!"
