The hotel is small, clean, on the door step to where the restaurants, cathedral is. Yhe restaurant next door where you get your breakfast is beautiful. Both the hotel and restaurant are rustic themed. Really recommend and will be returning.

This was more Bed & Breakfast than hotel and was an ideal location for a one night stay in York. Easy to access from the Shambles area. I should have done more checking however as no car parking outside hotel and had to book at local car park 5 mins walk away. The hotel room was a small double and a little small for a couple. Would have been a perfect room for a single person. Breakfast was served downstairs in the Forest bar and was a great start to the day

Love york and always take a photo of the Galtres when i visit as its beautiful outside, stayed with my daughter for one night. The location is fab however extremely noisy all night but i suppose if youre wanting to be in the middle of the centre its a small price to pay. There were a couple of stains on the decorative pillows on the bed - but apart from that the room was lovely and clean. Breakfast - included in the room rate was okay. Staff were lovely and attentive.

Had a great stay at this lovely little hotel. Staff and breakfast were excellent . Room was good, hotel is unique and forest theme is lovely. Building is old and in need of some work doing to bring it up to scratch but this is clearly work in progress. Recommended.
