Mix of feelings…
The property is gorgeous, I really love the way it looks, how it s organized and the breath of activities you can do around. The entertainment was amazing and there is always something going on around the boulevard or swimming pool.
That being said, I never got the VIP welcome I was supposed to (free drinks) while I saw other people receiving it.
The room is nice but the toilets are see through, it smells very damp and I think there may have been some flooding happening. It s humid in the room 24/7 so be ready for everything to smell.
The room service didn’t happen one day, don’t know why.
The adult only area contained adult only, which was great given the other comments I read.
The beach area was crowded with people leaving their towels on long chairs while never showing up, which is a bit of a shame. There should be a way to monitor that as it s unfair for other guests.
My boyfriend and I got food poisoning one day and we didn’t know if it happens at Saona island or in the resort from the fish at the buffet. We met other guests who also had food poisoning from the buffet…I didn’t know what to think about that. Booking restaurants were a nightmare and when I managed to book the Mexican one, the food was terrible ! I ordered a tostada, which was very soft as you can tell it was made hours ago…I was not impressed.
The staff, like in many places in Dominican Republic, were not the friendliest especially at the restaurant. They just want your money!
