When I arrived and saw a beautiful golf course, pool and clubhouse, I thought I was in for a treat. It went downhill from there. I arrived at 4:45 pm and there was no one at the office to check in. The only person I could find was a young girl working in the cafe. She told me that the office manager ran an errand and would return soon. After waiting 10 minutes I asked again, and this time she said maybe another 15 minutes. After driving 11 hours I really wanted to check in, so I went to the golf shop. Here I learned that the manager was picking up her golf cart for a 5:30 game. He finally agree to call someone on a cell phone and I finally checked in. Terrible service.
The room was the opposite of the resort, old, 9'x10' with no fridge or microwave. The latch on the old doorknob would not open fully, so I literally had to ram into the door with my shoulder to get it open. Not pleasant on my 70 year-old body.
That evening I wanted some ice for a cold glass of water and once again asked the only person working, the young girl in the restaurant, where I could find the ice machine. She told me that the only one was in the restaurant and not for guests, so if I wanted ice I would have to buy a bag (where is anyone's guess.)
I shudder to think what would have happened if I had arrived any later to check in with no way to reach anyone to help me. The phone number they provide just goes to the office voice mail, so I would likely have been sleeping in my car.
