Very clean helpful receptionist although as a disabled person back door was closed at 9 pm so had to walk round to the front door which was closed at 10pm couldn’t see why the back door wasn’t open until 10pm

3 night stay in Exmouth

Great location. Nice clean rooms. Friendly staff. Unfortunately next door neighbors were arguing and we could hear very clearly, so I would say the soundproofing isn’t great.

Really friendly staff. Room had a great view, good bed and recently refurbed bathroom with a good shower. Good location close to town. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but usually some free parking within 200m is available. Overall a great stay thanks!

Best of a bunch

I am often in Exmouth visiting my elderly mother and sometimes need a hotel for a couple of nights. Manor Hotel is now a great option for me, keenly priced, clean and comfortable. Staff excellent and got a room upgrade FOC. Having grown up in Exmouth I know the town well, the other two similar offerings here are the Imperial and Ashton Court. The Manor hotel is the better of these 3 in my option by some margin. I will be booking this one on future visits.

10/10 Exceptional

The only negative we had was the bar closing on Sunday evening at 10pm, whilst that was okay, we weren’t able to stay in the lounge area to finish our drinks or just to play cards, which we brought with us had to return to our rooms and as these were separate my friend and I had to end our evening. Hotel lounges should be open for use by residents which is usual at least until 11am
Sara, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

We stopped for one night in February to break up our journey home from Devon. We liked the well appointed bedroom as well as the restaurant which, on the night of our stay, offered a steak tasting menu. What was less welcome was the confusion over the tariff for our stay. We had booked through Expedia and chose the half board option. On arrival at Harpurs, a staff member explained that half board meant a contribution of £25 each for dinner and £15 each for breakfast. Sadly, at checkout, a different staff member informed us that half board was not an option when booking through Expedia and, consequently, our bill for dinner, breakfast and two drinks came to over £150. I explained that we had selected the half board option offered on the Expedia website but to no avail. This was a sad note to end on because the hotel (and the village of Melbourne) offers a pleasant stopping off point. On returning home , I checked Expedia and found that half board was still on offer. Something to be aware of!

2/10 Poor

Very poor

Dirty and run down. No heating in the bedroom. No staff to speak of and none to report the lack of heating to after 10pm. Complained in the morning and initially felt ignored. No apology made and was told they would speak to the manager and contact the party lead. Still waiting for contact almost a week later.
Sam, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Location is very good close to town and beaches. Friendly staff. Room and toulet were clean and comfortable. On the last night of our stay had a young couple 18 year olds that come back from a party and stayed walking around , jumping and dropping things in the room above us from 12:30 until 03:30. I had to go upstairs and tell them to be quiet. The rest of the stay was fine.
Andrew, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

A very old property our room No 9 quite difficult with all the steps outside and in the room.
Keith, 2-night trip

We can no longer trust reviews and adverts.

The impression from the website was of a far better place than we found. We all know that Google allows firms to pay to have them put further up the list of resources. Firms that don't pay get left out or ignored. So we get false impressions of the search results. I think the time is rapidly coming when we ought to return to having professional inspectors who have consistent standards.
