I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience at Chatuge Mountain Inn. From the moment we arrived, the stay was disappointing. The lobby had a strong smell of smoke, which was off-putting. The owner was unable to locate our reservation, despite the fact that it had been made in advance. Even after copying my driver’s license, she repeatedly called me by the wrong name and handed me a receipt with that incorrect name handwritten on it with inaccurate reservation details.
The condition of the room was equally concerning. It smelled of mildew, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls, and there was visible graffiti on the headboards. It gave the impression that the room had not been properly maintained or cleaned in quite some time.
