Gets basics right on facility, not on service
Knew going in that the place would be basic. The main selling point is as a gateway to the ski area. So not disappointed with the facility. The person at the reception though was a study in the kind of personality who should not be interacting with guests. Rude, no knowledge/ not inclined to help with basic local information, dismissive of requests and not even bothered with a sorry when he knocked our door late night and woke us up when he actually had to talk to the folks in the neighboring room. Killed the experience.

This was booked out of necessity. We just needed a place to stay one night. Everything was what I’d expected. A little run down motel but clean and usable. One complaint, it was over priced. One plus, the elk in the grass when we pulled in.

Great location for Mount Rainier NP. Local shop nearby but not much else. Rooms were really good, big and clean, and the air conditioning was good. Only had 1 dryer and 2 washing machines which was not enough for such a big property. The laundry room could have done with a bit of a clean.

The room was nice and clean but it was not even close to the Cowlitz River. The staff was not friendly nor helpful - both at check-in and check-out. Will probably not ever stay at this hotel again.
