We have stayed before and were really pleased that this stay was just as good. We couldn't fault anything, from the well thought out comfy room to the great breakfast and really friendly and helpful owners and staff. The Royal Oak is seriously good value for money. We will be back!

Came up to stay on my own as daughter graduating uni. Easy to find and was greeted warmly by staff. Sonia, Ian and Dylan were all so friendly and welcoming. Food was amazing and lots to chose from in the evening. Breakfast was good and you could pick and chose what you wanted. Locals were friendly and chatty. Would Definitely stay again. The guests that I met were all friendly. Highly recommend, not expensive and good location if you don’t want to stay in Durham and explore surrounding area. Will be back!

Home from home fab food and THEE comfiest bed I've ever slept in. Fantastic owners and staff who really just seem like your parents and siblings .. warm family feel with exceptional options on the menu definitely something for everyone and portions are definitely fit for a king or queen ...
