The place was unprepared for our visit. Bed had to be prepared for our children. Kitchen not well equipped.

4/10 Fair

management needed

From check in all the way to restaurant and bar service, the service was way below par.

Great food & service. Our room was damaged by a rain storm so we were upgraded to the main farm house. The farm house is huge, but terribly dated, furniture old and tired, one tv slightly bigger than a microwave oven... While the mere size certainly was considered an upgrade, I would rather stay somewhere else.

An unfortunate revisit to Dunkeld after 10years.

Upon arrival, the staff at reception were unfriendly, unproffesional(shouting over a line of guests to a passing staff member for his attention). Then checking in, the unit's bathroom walls werent cleaned in month with old blood stains behind the toilets, feses smeared in the tiles dust on all the door frames, carpets are in a disgusting condition and the sofas have not been cleaned probably in years. These properties are in desperate need for a renovation, and their housekeeping Manager should be fired for allowing units to be left deteriorated to such a level!

Fishermens Cottages, Dunkeld Country Estate

The setting is very beautiful and well maintained. Stayed in the self-catering cottages which are very well equipped, clean, comfortable and attractive. Lots of extra things to do - fishing, cycling, walking, horse riding, tennis, etc. Short drive to the village that is full of interesting restaurants and shops.

Dullstroom/Dunkeld stay

Our cottage was on a trout dam which was lovely. Cottage needs some renovating, and the spa was disappointing. Therapists were great, but spa is small and unimpressive. Overall it was a relaxing and quiet stay which we enjoyed, lovely fireplace in the cottage. Dinners good in the restaurant.

Having booked a family room for two couples and a shared common area. On arrival we were informed that the common area came at an extra charge.

Dunkeld

Great resort but rooms need to be upgraded. this was my fifth time there but the rooms need serious upgrades and to be properly cleaned

6/10 Good

I actually expected more when it came to the restaurant and the service for this price. I expected a restaurant with more elaborated menue and meals and i expected a better service from the staff. It took to long to order and to get any attention from the staf and especially in the morning at the breakfast buffet where you constantly had to point out missing playes and food/drink items missing. But the whole Estate is absolutely lovely and we will return when the weather is better as we did not get ro do the horse riding due to bad weather. But we will only return when we find a better prices.

Lovely place

Why do we have to pay conservation fees? We stay for business? There is nothing in the small right. This makes staying overnight very expensive. Thank you

6/10 Good

Self Catering unit/s in 'main house' not suitable for couples wishing to have a quite relaxing getaway.

8/10 Very good

Enjoyable family resort

Beautiful surroundings and comfortable units. A few small things needed that weren't in the unit (no matches for candles and hairdryer on request, but none available) but staff are happy to assist when asked. The 1883 restaurant had excellent food and goodies to buy, we didn't eat at the other restaurant (Sporting horse) because after 10 minutes with no one helping us we left. Overall a great resort for families, with an entertainment centre and lots of activities for kids. We enjoyed the hatchery tour and horseriding thoroughly.

6/10 Good

Nice Stay - Bit overpriced for what you get

The cabin was refurbished but the bathroom still dated and mildew present. Other than that, very nice. One just get the feeling that you still pay a luxury price for a average cabin. Apart from that - everything fine.

Dunkeld

We are awaiting a refund, we checked out straight away, the hotel is not what we saw on the pictures when we booked our accommodation.

6/10 Good

Misleading pictures

The info and pictures appearing on the hotels.com website were very misleading. I was disappointed in the room and the hotel.

8/10 Very good

This is a beautiful place. Especially the equestrian site. I wish to own one of the houses. Can they give themselves time to spring clean the units especially after every check out.they have enough time to do that. They should also maintain the units properly

Cleanliness

The unit seemed to have been cleaned when it was last used and not prior to our arrival. This was evident by some spider webs.

Wrong star rating

This property is not 4* and has to be down-graded to 3* It needs A LOT of attention and upgrading to bring it up to 4* standard The state of the property in general is shocking and dated!!!
