Great find!
Lovely place, friendly staff. Delicious food and breakfast. Room comfortable, my only minor issue was the sound of the air/con heating unit outside, but i am a light sleeper! Apart from that pretty much perfect!

Excellent Stay
We had a wonderful stay at The Lamb, all the staff were very friendly. Delicious full veggie breakfast, nothing too much trouble. Plus a lovely evening meal. Really good with our pooch, all in all great.

Staff great, place fantastic, food lovely, hot water in room oddly intermittent!
Thing's that let the place down were on the first night fire exit had rubbish bags blocking it and cleaning staff blocked narrow corridors with piles of sheets. Both matters raised with management, this was dealt with.

Beautiful inn
Great food, great service and lovely interiors. Really liked the bedroom design, however we didn’t have any hot water in the morning when we woke up. The staff were lovely and offered us a shower in another room and complimentary breakfast as an apology.

This review is really about my getting away for a break and to be allowed to just chill out. I did not require super attentive service or astonishing presentation of food, or attention to detail and so if these were missing it did not affect my stay.
I am very grateful for the tolerance of the staff when I managed to get back way after midnight.

What a quaint little hotel...we were so happy to discover that they had an A/C unit in the room even tho it wasn't cooling very well, but the staff brought us a fan which made everything copasetic. Of course it was a bit inconvenient not having an elevator but we were only 1 floor up so it wouldn't be a deal breaker. The dinner at the onsite restaurant was fantastic and one of the best on our month log adventure. Staff was friendly & super helpful...would stay again if I find myself in the area.

Cute little place. Room was nice. We also ate in the restaurant and food was great. We didn't really get to explore the area unfortunately but there were maps of different walks you could take.

Wouldn't return
Probably typical for an old village inn, more room that you'd expect from the exterior.
Service reasonable, but pushing their pricing a bit too much - pay extra for coffee at breakfast?
No internal lock on room door, difficult to open window, a lot of shower spray escaping

One night in Wiltshire
Overall it’s a nice hotel to stay at, rooms all nicely decorated. But lacked a hair dryer! Would have given it more stars but the food let it down I found it was limited menu and not catering for Asian tastes, although the staff did their best on the evening. I had the belly of pork which was fine put the vegetables tasted as they had been reheated from earlier in the day. So overall just passable for a one night stay.

Very old building with character. Bedrooms were individually furnished, but unusual door finishes!
None of the rooms were numbered, which im presuming was a temporary situation. Unable to lock bedroom door from the inside, for additional security.
Breakfast buffet was limited in some areas and service was slow. Cooked offerings were tasty!

On first impression, the room we stayed in looked lovely. We were initially impressed with a basket of treats that looked complementary however then found a booklet with prices inside. Prior reviews describe how other people felt misled by this, so we were surprised a clearer sign hadn't been added.
The bed was unfortunately incredibly hard so we found it hard to sleep. We requested an extra mattress topper, but were given a mattress protector which did not add to our comfort.
The buildings are very old, which unfortunately means very creaky floorboards and little soundproofing. We struggled to sleep due to hearing the people above us.
The final straw though was being woken up early on the Sunday morning from a beeping from our boiler. This was due to it having low pressure - a lady pressed a button on it for us which temporarily stopped it however we were awoken again by it some time later. We then found we had no hot water.
We were moved to a different room later that night but this was only done on our request - despite this seeming like basic customer service after this incident of poor sleep and no hot water. We would have expected more of an apology from somewhere of this standard but weren't given anything (even for example a complementary drink or breakfast) for our troubles.
On the plus side, the pub itself was cosy and we enjoyed most of our food there. However, we wouldn't be back due to such poor sleep quality!
