Comfortable Cabin in the Bowery

The room was as advertised. Cabin sized and quaint with bathrooms and a shower just off the room. If you're dipping in and out of New York and want an affordable option with a great location Now Now is it.

Great concept, way too noisy

I love the concept of this hotel: small bunks for solo travelers with shared bathrooms/facilities to reduce waste, and all female floors for safety. However, the walls of the bunks do not go up to the ceiling so you can hear every noise coming from your neighbor's room and every time someone on your hall opens their door. My sleep was very disturbed by all the noise.

You pay for exactly what you get, maybe even more. It’s cozy and comfortable, clean and safe. Staff is always smiling and happy to help!

Such a cool little hotel. Stayed at a much more expensive location for three nights before and I wish I found this place earlier. Cute little sleeper cabin rooms, only built for ONE but filled with super nice amenities, especially the bathrobe and the towels. Will for sure be back. Great value!

The place is perfect for a couple of days. The downside is that the bathroom is unisex (shared by both men and women). It would be better if they were separated.

Super cute, but loud as a…

Very hip hotel/hostel with a great location. The front desk staff are quite kind and helpful. I found the room/cabin to be as advertised. They are very small cabins, but clean and comfortable. My biggest issue was that it was the loudest place I’ve ever tried to sleep. Sound carries like crazy. The lady next to me was mad at her very heavy, very loud door at 10 minute intervals all throughout the 2 nights I spent there. Every door is loud. Every voice is amplified. Be aware that if you book the “women's only floor,” you make be woken up by a man’s voice fixing the only toilet or vacuuming the hall. Overall, it’s a great property. If you are young and comfortable with small spaces and can sleep through the sound of a train running through the building, it’s perfect! *They do provide earbuds and a night-mask. and the robe and sound machine are nice in-stay touches. I wanted to like it a lot, but did not sleep one wink.

This is a hostel-type accommodation, with shared showers, toilets, and washing stations. If that is what you want, you may want to stay here. It was meticulously clean, end-to-end. The “cabins” (32 sq ft) do not have a ceiling, but open into a common space above with slats to prevent unauthorized entry. There are not private sinks for washing up (common showers and privies are private). The rules prohibit phone calls, smoking etc and were observed well. Sound machines made for good sleeping. There is no elevator. It’s a safe. clean hostel, but it’s listed as a 3 star hotel, which it is not.

1st Rate Utilitarian Chic Accommodations

I like exploring new concept hotels in NYC in some of my favorite parts of the city-- in this case The Bowery. Now Now Noho is unique. A hip hostel style accommodation-- a cross between a train compartment and a small boat cabin. European and Japanese style and efficiency vibes. Stunningly executed design. The compartments are beautiful and comfortable. They are designed for single occupancy. The bathroom/shower area in the wing I stayed was super clean. It affords a high level of privacy. I certainly enjoyed the experience and hope to be back.

DON'T STAY HERE IF YOU NEED TO SLEEP AT NIGHT

During each of the 2 nights of my stay I was wakened at 4:30 am by loud music blasting through the hotel's central sound system, and when I staggered down the two steep flights of stairs (there are no elevators) to the Reception (yes, in my pajamas) and asked them to turn it off the people on duty just shrugged and said they couldn't do anything about it. But even if this hadn't happened, the walls between the tiny rooms are so thin I could hear the breathing of the people in the rooms next to me, as well as every little sound - the crinkling of candy wrappers, moving of suitcases (very hard to navigate in the rooms so there's a lot of pushing of suitcases under beds so one can step onto the floor, etc), and ringing of cel phones even though there is ban on cel phone use in the rooms "out of consideration for others" -- which is a JOKE when you consider that the hotel itself was blasting the music that woke me up. And so many other totally impractical features - no elevator, very steep stairs -- do NOT come with a heavy suitcase unless you're strong and have good balance -- shower facilities in the basement three flights down, rooms so dark (they are all windowless) that even when you can find space to open your suitcase you can only see into it with your phone torch on, no eating/drinking allowed apart from in a tiny room in the basement that has only 4 seats, and only one bench outside on the sidewalk that seats just 3...HOW DID THEY COME UP WITH THIS STUPID CONCEPT???!!!

Great for a short stay

This place is really cool. Something that I think should be noted more clearly is that these rooms DO NOT have ceilings. So, if anyone snores or coughs or sneezes on your floor you can hear it all. While I was staying here someone was sick and so I could hear them coughing and blowing their nose all night. This is not a place to stay if you are truly looking for comfort. I felt on edge the whole time because I didn't want to be too loud to disrupt anyone else. Beds were comfy. Bathrooms were fairly clean. It would be nice if more towels were provided in each room. Including a wash cloth. Next time I would splurge for the bigger of the rooms. One thing I noticed was that there were no tissues anywhere. No tissues in the bathroom or in the individual rooms. The only thing like a tissue was the toilet paper or a hand towel in the bathroom. It would be nice not to have to leave the room and go to the bathroom to get something simple like a tissue. There are also no trash cans in the rooms. I think a small can could be placed in the room. Otherwise, if I had any trash I had to accumulate it and then walk to the bathroom and throw it away each time. Another thing to note is that the luggage storage here is $4 an hour. If you need to leave your luggage here for some time before check in or your flight, expect to pay. I think that is a free thing they should do. Most hotels do not charge for such a thing. Be sure to bring your own shower shoes or pay another charge.
