This was my first stay at an Axel hotel and it was wonderful. The staff are amazingly helpful and rhe property is immaculate. The location is easy to get to and makes a perfect base for exploring Bilbao.

Excellent boutique style hotel

Fantastic hotel, great location in centre of Bilbao. Very friendly and exceptional reception staff. Beautiful and very comfortable rooms with great shower. Delicious, fresh and tasty breakfast with lots of choice. Great coffee and breakfast staff so friendly and helpful. We didn’t use roof top pool as weather not hot enough, but looked stunning and will return in the summer to try it out. Cannot recommend more highly.

Fint hotell med HBTQ-inriktning. Trevlig och serviceinriktad personal. Blev uppgraderad till fint rum med speciell badrumslösning. Inga garderober, men annan lösning för upphängning av kläderna. OK frukostbuffé: inte mycket alternativ av flingor. Ingen kaffemaskin, utan man fick beställa sitt kaffe som dock var gott.

Propre et moderne mais sans chaleur

Nous avons séjourné dans cet hôtel récemment rénové, et si la propreté et la modernité des installations sont indéniables, nous n’avons malheureusement pas ressenti le confort et la chaleur attendus. Tout est impeccable, mais l’ambiance manque de caractère et d’âme. L’agencement des chambres n’est pas très pratique, ce qui peut nuire au confort du séjour. Le personnel est professionnel, mais un accueil plus chaleureux aurait rendu l’expérience plus agréable. Le petit déjeuner, quant à lui, manque de qualité. Il ne faut pas être difficile, notamment avec des croissants industriels mal cuits, ce qui est décevant pour un établissement de ce standing. Autre point négatif : le spa est censé être accessible uniquement sur réservation, mais en réalité, ce n’est pas respecté. Résultat, il peut être bondé et loin d’offrir le moment de détente attendu. En somme, un hôtel fonctionnel et bien tenu, idéal pour un court séjour ou un voyage d’affaires, mais qui manque de cette touche d’hospitalité et d’attention aux détails qui permettent de vraiment se sentir à l’aise.
