This hotel is very old. The heating and AC units are not in good working condition, and the room entry door didn't lock automatically, unlike most other hotels. I noticed the door wasn't locked one day afternoon. However, the location is very good. I could go to popular hiking trails with easy walk.

3/5 stars because it was everything we needed, but nothing more. The distance to the National Park was unbeatable, the staff were exceptionally kind, and the room was decently clean. That said, the property is extremely old, as others have said. There is a slight smell in the hallways, peeling wallpaper, stains, etc. Our "king bed" was really just 2 double mattresseses pushed together with a large sheet put over them, which made sleeping slightly uncomfortable. The convenience store on site mostly has "british" memorbilia and is unstaffed the majority of the time. For a single night, wanting to be in walking distance to the park, it was fine, but we wouldn't choose this again if we weren't going to the park.

The view of Seoraksan from my room was absolutely stunning, and it made my stay even more enjoyable. However, I must mention that the ondol room I initially booked was quite old and not very clean, which was disappointing. Nevertheless, I decided to upgrade to a suite, and I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful room and the even more breathtaking view. The staff at your hotel were incredibly kind and helpful. When I accidentally left my watch at the hotel, they went above and beyond by finding it and sending it to my next accommodation. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at your hotel, and I appreciate the efforts made by the staff to ensure my stay was enjoyable.

The hotel has a quirky British theme, with mahogany finish and regency style decoration in the western-style bedrooms. This makes them a bit gloomy for me. The carpets in the bedrooms were starting to look quite grubby, too. We really enjoyed the top notch breakfast.

Perfect location within walking distance to Seoraksan National Park. Mountain view room was stunning. All staff were very friendly and spoke good english. Breakfast buffet each morning had a good selection of Western and Korean food options. The hotel had an onsite convenience store in the lobby, which provided ramen and other snacks. The room was a little bit dated but very clean and tidy and it is all just part of the charm of this lovely old hotel.

Excellent location if you plan to visit Seoraksan almost every day of your stay in Sokcho. Buses down into town are very convenient. 20 minute walk down to the nearest convenient store. View is pretty great and the room is enormous. Probably not very convenient if you want to get a late night snack unless you don’t mind a 20 minute walk. Rooms are a little vintage in style and condition. Quite a bit of bugs in the balcony and saw some in the toilet too.
