Misrepresentation. Superior Room booking...we hoped for a smart room with a view but it was a basement dungeon. Everything is short changed, breakfast, etc. Parking was £18 per night we thought included, rip off is in the small print. Bit scruffy, room full of dust and crumbs. Staff were very friendly but untrained. Overpriced at £175/ night it was worth a £75 at best. We want a part refund/

Last minute break
Wonderfull 2 night stay. Room very well equipped, love the fact that the toiletries where full size not tiny little useless bottles. Bath towels beautiful soft. Hotel Beautiful and in fabulous grounds. Bar staff indoor and outdoor very professional , nothing was any trouble for them, but did think that reception staff didn’t come across as professional as the rest of the hotel staff, eg on arrival staff were eating behind reception desk and seemed to be standing around talking at the end of the reception desk. Same on departure the reception staff did lack a certain level of professionalism eg did not ask if we enjoyed our stay or engage in any small polite conversation, and again staff standing at the end of the reception desk talking.

The advert doesn't state that you will have to pay for parking. They charged £18 please be aware that the parking is not free. Also, book last minute here as you'll get a cheaper deal.

Perfect weekend stay
A very warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff we met were very friendly, the evening meal in the Brasserie was excellent, a stunning room. A perfect location for a weekend in York, just a short walk to the centre.

Good hotel but didnt have a good sleeping experien
A good hotel in an excellent location for visiting the City of York. The heating system banged so loud the first night waking us up every 10 minutes. On the second night the banging continued despite having been reported and it had to be shut down to stop the banging. The walls between bedrooms were very thin enabling us to hear word for word conversations in the adjoining room. Despite this we did enjoy our stay and the staff were lovely.
