For this place for being a historical building it was run down, had the potential to be really nice, but it was not being kept up. Their rooms were small. The ac was a standalone unit blowing outside curtains didn't even close, so you you had to clip the blind shut and the shower was pitiful and the bathroom sink was extremely small.

Would stay here again

This hotel was built during the Fred Harvey heyday and is on the historic register. So it has a lot of character. Rooms are nicely updated and very clean. If you're interested in the sandhill crane migration, this hotel is centrally located and close to the wildlife reserve. It is also close to restaurants and coffee shops.

Historic Charm

This is our favorite close getaway. Makes us feel like we are on a mini vacation even though we are just 45 minutes away. We love the historic charm and the great hospitality by the husband and wife team. Love their breakfast goodies and beverages they provided directly to our room. We will always return. Cute historic place.

Was driving from Denver to southwest Colorado and didn't want to drive over wolf creek pass in the dark, was getting tired so booked a room. Got in around 9:30 pm and checked in, very nice couple greeted us at the counter and we're extremely friendly and courteous, gave us a little history of the building and off to the room we went. It wasn't a very big room but perfect for me and my wife. Really comfortable bed. Super cute place if we have to travel through again will be staying again.
