Love staying in such a great group of older mansions, and happy to support them rather than staying in an impersonal cookie cutter hotel. Location is nice, short walk to the free QLine into the heart of downtown, and to the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Detroit Historical Society museum. No problem accessing the parking behind the inn at any time.
The staff at the desk were efficient and friendly.
Breakfast was good, fresh fruit, eggs, sausage, pastries etc.
Our room was spacious and had a nice view. Mattress better than most.
The cons were mostly inherent in a stay in an older home: no elevator, weak water pressure on the third floor.
Only real issue was cleanliness. Bathroom was OK but some areas in the bedroom hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time, like around the edges and the nightstands. The windows were grimy, as was the woodwork.
