Lovely Lodge

We really enjoyed our time staying at the lodge. The location was amazing with so many trails leading from there. The coffee shop was really convenient and the restaurant pretty good. Our cottage had plenty of room for the two of us and nice accommodations. The bed was really soft. Would highly recommend staying here.

Lobby facilities great room poor and uncomfortable

We understand a lodge would be more basic than a modern hotel room, but with no sound proofing at all, so kids and dogs disturbed us most of the time. The very old heaters that bang so loud as the heat up or cool down than my wife jumped up in bed. Also we had the last cabin in the block with 1 bar WiFi and it just did not work. The Lobby and restaurant were lovely and had good internet. We had coffee and eat dinner there.

I accidentally booked the wrong date and didn’t realize it but this staff is so amazing they were able to give us a place to stay and were so friendly and kind about it. I would definitely stay again.

easy access to the park

I wasn't very happy with the condition for the price I paid, but my partner who lived in CA said this place is very resonable. It is nice and cozy. Staffs were very friendly. I wished I booked the place with kitchen. There was not many option for dining, and it was very expensive. I will prepare better next time.

Big Sur Splendor

We hit the jackpot finding this hotel in Big Sur. Nestled in a state park the Big Sur Lodge is the perfect place to hike and take in nature. From the lobby we were able to hike some amazing trails which were well marked. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. While there was no television and the WIFI was spotty, I was able to get a strong enough signal from the room. The location could not be more perfect.

Magic

This pace is quaint and amazing nestled into the magic Big Sur has to offer. It’s not the Ritz Carlton or fancy by any means. It’s rustic, cabin style, as advertised. Wait staff incredibly friendly. One younger staff guy in gift shop was really quiet and we had an awkward moment where he couldn’t count the change accurately and darkly said he would get in trouble if he was a penny off (implying negativity - but I experience nothing of the sort) but there was a woman who provided over the top customer service. Anyway- you won’t have cell service here. But so what -get off your phone and enjoy.

Rustic, beautiful, and convenient

We enjoyed our stay. Absolutely lovely setting, right in a state park with redwoods, trails, and a waterfall. Loved the lodge, with its rustic decor, and we enjoyed the gift shop, cafe, and restaurant. It's so convenient to have all of that right there. The rooms are pretty basic, but they have everything you need - though I would have liked a small table on the balcony to put a drink on. One issue - our room smelled very strongly of wood smoke when we arrived - I mean, sting your eyes heavy. I tried to air it out, but it continued to be very strong. I actually had a bit of a hard time sleeping because of it. Needless to say, we did not use the fireplace and create even more smoke! Other than that, it was all very nice.
