At about 10PM, the elevator started opening and closing every thirty seconds. The doors were very noisy and squeaky. After alerting the hotel, and receiving no response, I finally left the room, walked down the hall, and pressed the button to send the elevator to the first floor. It came back. I alerted the front desk twice, but received no response until after 7AM. They could have taken action to stop the elevator. They did nothing. The noise went on all night. Our room was not next to the elevator, yet we could not sleep for the racket caused by the broken elevator.
In addition, the hallway smelled of something rank.
This hotel is not to the usual standard of Hampton Inn.
