I recently stayed at the Hilton in the Northbrook area, and while the hotel itself seemed decent overall, my experience was far from comfortable. The toilet in my room leaked all night, and I had to open the tank manually every time I used it just to stop it from running. On top of that, the floor next to the bathroom was constantly wet due to some kind of leak. I couldn’t walk barefoot or even in socks—I had to wear flip-flops just to move around comfortably in my own room.
I reported the issue to the front desk around 10 PM, fully understanding that it might not be fixed immediately, which I was okay with. However, no one followed up, attempted to resolve the problem, or offered any kind of compensation or alternative. That lack of response was really disappointing.
I won’t be staying here again, but I don’t think the hotel is inherently bad—I probably just got the short end of the stick. Still, for a Hilton, I expected better service and responsiveness.
